Digital Skills for Digital Jobs and Businesses Programme

The EBL Institute of Business and Technology addresses barriers that hinder matriculants from getting higher education access and success through the EBL Digital Skills for Digital Jobs Training Programme. With the increasing demand for digital talent, this programme aims to bridge the digital skills gap and provide individuals with the opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge necessary for digital jobs. The training equips individuals with a university accredited qualification and skills that are in high demand in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Not only will our student be work ready, but they will also have the competitive edge to thrive in a rapidly changing digital landscape.
Through the DS4SJ Training Programme, we address the obstacles/challenges that hinder many matriculants from furthering their studies, and we equip them with the necessary resources, qualifications and skills to thrive in the digital world. It is important to be digitally savvy in today's world as digital technology is rapidly changing the way we live, work, and communicate. As the digital economy continues to grow, the demand for digital talent will continue to increase. Being digitally savvy will provide individuals with the skills necessary to be competitive in the job market and take advantage of the opportunities presented by the digital economy. We empower our students with the tools needed to succeed and take control of their futures in a way that matters.

SMME Programme

The SMME Programme, also known as the Entrepreneurship & Business Literacy Programme, is specifically designed to support entrepreneurs in their journey from startup inception to achieving sustainable growth Through imparting knowledge and fostering skill development, the programme aims to enable businesses to operate autonomously, even in the absence of direct oversight from the owner. This emphasis on building self-reliant enterprises underscores the programme's commitment to long-term success and sustainability for participating entrepreneurs.
This 10-month program is crafted to equip entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate various aspects of business management effectively.
the programme delves into essential areas such as marketing strategies, sales techniques, leadership development, establishment of efficient systems, recruitment practices, and team management strategies. By addressing these critical areas, the programme aims to empower entrepreneurs with the tools needed to not only establish successful ventures but also to sustainably scale their businesses. In essence, the SMME Programme serves as a catalyst for entrepreneurial growth, providing participants with invaluable insights, practical skills, and strategic guidance to thrive in today's competitive business landscape

Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship) is a program of the University of the Free State, Economic and Management Sciences Faculty. Which was developed to instill the culture of Entrepreneurship in teenagers in partnership with California State University, USA.
Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives.
SAGE focuses on the following:
Curriculum: The learners are given University training which awards them the NQF Level 5 accredited Certificate with UFS.
Mentorship: The learners are mentored by trained program alumnus who are available throughout the year to assist them with the program business requirements as well as other business related queries.
Competition: The learners are divided into groups of a minimum of two peers and a maximum of four, who then compete amongst each other at different levels (regional, provincial and national level) to be crowed South African Teen Entrepreneur of the Year, to then represent South Africa at the annual Global Competition (SAGE WORLD CUP).

MTN Women In Digital Business Challenge
About
The MTN Women in Digital Business Challenge, initiated by the MTN Foundation is an empowerment platform for female digital entrepreneurs in South Africa. With a total pledge of R1 million, the challenge aims to support the growth and development of women-led digital ventures. The program selects ten pioneering women in the digital realm, each set to receive R100,000 in prize money for their businesses. This financial injection is specifically earmarked for various business needs, including working capital, business development, procurement of assets, and investment in technology infrastructure or intellectual property.
Recognizing the underrepresentation of women in South Africa's IT industry despite comprising over 50% of the population, MTN has strategically designed this challenge to foster gender diversity and empowerment in STEM sector, and it has partnered with the EBL Institute of Business and Technology to implement this mission/vision. This opportunity, afforded to ten South African women, aims to provide practical avenues for women to excel in technology and entrepreneurship. Through mentorship, financial support, and skill enhancement, the challenge not only aims to catalyse the growth of women-owned digital enterprises but also to serve as a beacon of inspiration for others, encouraging more women to pursue entrepreneurial endeavours or seek opportunities within the IT sector. The challenge builds upon the success of previous initiatives, reinforcing MTN's commitment to fostering scarce skills and driving sustainable development in communities through innovative programs tailored to empower women in the digital landscape.
